FUTMINNA ALUMNA MARIAM KAREEM SHINES AS 2024 MICHAEL TAIWO SCHOLAR AFTER STELLAR ACADEMIC FEATS

According to a tweet by the official page of the Michael Taiwo Annual Scholarship, Mariam Kareem, a native of Oyo State, Nigeria, has been announced as one of the 2024 scholarship awardees, recognized for her exceptional academic and leadership record.

A proud alumna of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Mariam graduated with First Class honors in Soil Science and Land Management, earning a remarkable CGPA of 4.80 out of 5.00. She furthered her education at the University for Development Studies in Ghana, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering with an outstanding CGPA of 3.94 out of 4.00.

Demonstrating excellence beyond the classroom, Mariam scored 339 out of 340 in the GRE and received a 5.0 out of 6.0 in Analytical Writing. She now aims to pursue a graduate program in Environmental Science and Engineering.

While at FUTMINNA, Mariam was also active in student politics, winning a seat in the Students Representatives Assembly under the Students’ Union Government. Her ability to balance rigorous academics with extracurricular leadership highlights her dedication and versatility.
