FUTMINNA PARTNERS MDCAN TO LAUNCH WORLD CLASS COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Minna Chapter, to fast-track the establishment and growth of its newly approved College of Medicine and Health Sciences.

During a courtesy visit to the university on Monday, November 3, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) had officially approved the commencement of medical programs for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Prof. Kuta outlined major steps already taken, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Medical Center, Bida, which will serve as the University’s teaching hospital. He also acknowledged key contributions from stakeholders, notably the ₦100 million donation from Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for the construction of a female hostel and the gift of a male hostel from philanthropist Dr. Rabiu Abdulsamad.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the college’s establishment would help resolve long-standing admission difficulties faced by Niger State indigenes and called for MDCAN’s continued collaboration to ensure a seamless take-off.

In his remarks, MDCAN Chairman, Dr. Yahaya Mustapha Makanta lauded the University’s visionary leadership, describing the new college as a transformative step toward addressing the state’s healthcare manpower deficit. He reaffirmed MDCAN’s readiness to support the college both academically and clinically, ensuring it meets global standards in medical education.

Dr. Makanta added that the initiative would not only train competent medical professionals but also strengthen healthcare delivery, reduce dependence on foreign medical services, and expand research capacity in Niger State.

    Existen varias tecnicas para corregir el desequilibrio, dependiendo del tipo de componente y la intensidad de las vibraciones:

    El equilibrado dinamico – Se aplica en elementos rotativos (rotores y ejes) y se lleva a cabo mediante maquinas equilibradoras especializadas.

    El equilibrado estatico – Se usa en volantes, ruedas y otras piezas donde es suficiente compensar el peso en un unico plano.

    La correccion del desequilibrio – Se realiza mediante:

    Taladrado (retirada de material en la zona de mayor peso),

    Colocacion de contrapesos (en ruedas, aros de volantes),

    Ajuste de masas de equilibrado (por ejemplo, en ciguenales).

    Diagnostico del desequilibrio: equipos utilizados
    Para detectar con precision las vibraciones y el desequilibrio, se emplean:

    Equipos equilibradores – Miden el nivel de vibracion y determinan con exactitud los puntos de correccion.

    Analizadores de vibraciones – Capturan el espectro de oscilaciones, identificando no solo el desequilibrio, sino tambien fallos adicionales (por ejemplo, el desgaste de rodamientos).

    Sistemas laser – Se usan para mediciones de alta precision en mecanismos criticos.

    Las velocidades criticas de rotacion requieren especial atencion – condiciones en las que la vibracion se incrementa de forma significativa debido a la resonancia. Un equilibrado adecuado evita danos en el equipo bajo estas condiciones.
