NEWGATE University Minna today, December 4, 2025, marked a historic milestone as it held its maiden Convocation Ceremony at the university premises. The institution, which commenced academic activities in 2020, proudly graduated 207 students across various faculties.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including the Governor of Niger State, ably represented by his Deputy, who commended the university for its rapid growth and its contribution to educational development in the state. He also encouraged the graduates to be exemplary ambassadors of both the university and Niger State.
A major highlight of the event was the celebration of the overall best-graduating student, who finished with an outstanding 4.83 CGPA. In recognition of this remarkable feat, the university awarded her a fully funded Master’s scholarship, an automatic employment offer, and a cheque covering her total tuition fees from 100 to 400 level, a gesture that drew massive applause from attendees.
The Vice-Chancellor praised the graduating class for their resilience and urged them to continue striving for excellence as they embark on new journeys.
